New Years Eve Events on Monday December 31st On New Year's Eve there will be both a dinner and a dance. Come for the dinner, the dance, or both to ring in the New Year. The Cocktail Hour which includes light snacks begins at 5:30. Dinner will be served from 6:30 - 8:00 by RESERVATION ONLY. Call 961-3303. The entrees are Prime Rib ($25.00), or Shrimp Scampi ($20.00) and dinner includes potato, salad, bread, and dessert bar. Price includes Tax and Gratuity. The dance will begin at 9:00 pm with the band "Split Second". To try and draw a big crowd for a Great New Years Celebration and also to thank the membership for a GREAT YEAR there is no cover charge for the dance. For those who prefer reserved seating, tables for 8 will be sold for the dance at a rate of $50.00 per table. This includes (2) bottles of Champagne and party favors before midnight. Please contact Nicki Brown at 961 - 2111 for table reservations. Bowl Game Party There will be a bowl game party on New Years Day for those who like to party and watch football. We hope to have a second Flat Panel High Definition TV for those at the bar by New Years Day.
Clubhouse Projects There are several renovation/improvement projects underway in the clubhouse. Upstairs, the front door and the kitchen entry door and deck are being replaced. Downstairs the old bar exhaust fan is being removed and that area will then be used for a second flat panel TV in the bar. Course Project Update The work on the second ditch on hole #1 has been completed and the area will be seeded early next spring. Installation of the new watering system on the old nine is in progress, but the completion date is weather dependent. Continued cold may move completion to spring. Joe is confident that the system will be ready to go when it is needed next year. The Greens Committee and the Board agreed that the pond on #12 will remain as a “wetlands” area for the near future. The money that would have been spent to deepen or fill the pond is now available for other projects. Winter Golf Joe will keep the greens open as long as we have playable weather although from the current forecast the 2007 golf season may be over. We will go to winter clubhouse hours in December, but Jason will try to have someone in the clubhouse if good weather (50 degrees or higher) is likely to bring some golfers out. Once the greens close, you can still play to the temporary flags Joe will put in front of the greens on the old nine. Women’s Night Out This Winter The Clubhouse Committee and Board have approved opening the downstairs bar every Wednesday night from 4:00-8:00 pm for a regular Women’s Night Out on a trial basis. The men have a good crowd on Thursday nights and some women have expressed an interest in coming out for a drink and playing cards on Wednesday evenings. We hope that this becomes a well attended evening for the women. Winter in the Clubhouse I would like to let our new members know, and remind our "old" members that there is significant activity in the clubhouse even after the snow flies. For example the lunches on Thursday, Friday and Saturday are as good as you will find in Indianola. So come on out and support your club. The daily club winter activities are listed below. The Board may make some adjustments in these hours based on member use. For example, Monday nights were very slow last year and we may close on Monday if member use does not increase. *Monday & Tuesday - Downstairs bar open 3:30-7:00 pm. Stop in for happy hour after work. *Wednesday – 4:00 – 8:00 pm for Women’s Night Out every week & Ladies Day Stagette on the 3rd Wednesday of each month. *Thursday - Lunch 11:00am-2:00pm, Every Thursday night is men's night. Stop in for dinner, a few drinks, a game of cards or watching a ball game. *Friday - Lunch 11:00am-2:00pm. There is also usually a good Friday evening crowd for happy hour. Stop by with your friends. *Saturday - Lunch 11:00am-2:00pm. There is typically a good afternoon crowd playing cards or watching ball games. Come by and check it out. *Closed Sundays in the winter Only 2 Rental Carts Left Only two of the clubs 8 rental carts remain unsold. Both are 2003's and can be purchased for $2300 + Tax each. The club will store the cart until Spring for free. Don’t miss this great opportunity to upgrade your current cart to a well maintained newer cart.
