Holiday Celebrations

The club will have a number of holiday celebrations this month. Please come out and participate in these holiday festivities. These include the LADIES CHRISTMAS STAGETTE on Wednesday December 17th. The time is one-half hour earlier than usual with cocktails at 5:30 pm and dinner at 6:30 pm. The festivities include a $10 gift exchange. Call the club at 961-3303 to make your reservations.

On Friday December 19th there will be a KARAOKE CHRISTMAS PARTY in the downstairs lounge A reasonably priced buffet style dinner will be available starting at 5:30 pm. Stop by for dinner and some Christmas cheer. Stay around and sing KARAOKE starting at 8:00 pm.

Last but certainly not least are the New Years Eve activities. There will be a PRIME RIB BUFFET dinner served from 6:30 pm – 7:00 pm. The cost is $15 per person. Call the Club at 961-3303 by December 19th to make your dinner reservations. The NEW YEARS EVE DANCE with the Good Time Oldies Band starts at 8:30 pm. The cost for the dance is also $15 per person and includes pre-dance hors d’oeuvres and Champagne and party favors at midnight. Call Melissa Hosey at 961-5201 or the Club at 961-3303 by December 19th to make your dance reservations. The total cost of both the buffet and dance is a reasonable $30 per person or $60 per couple. You may come to just the buffet or just the dance if you wish. A big thanks to the Hoseys, Hoovers and Vanderpools for organizing the dance.

Improved Sunday Brunch

Sunday Brunch this month is on Sunday December 14th from 9:30-11:30 am. The brunch now includes the made to order omelet bar, an improved selection of fruit, juices, and pastries, as well as additional main dish selections. Since the brunch includes your beverage, the cost of $8 per person is a good deal. Come on out and give it a try. Guests are welcome. This is by reservation only, so please call the clubhouse at 961-3303 to make your reservations.

Club Manager Search

The Club has begun a search for a permanent Club Manager. We are looking for someone with a golf oriented background. They will help us with our transition from a nine hole to an eighteen hole facility, help run golf tournaments, and manage all clubhouse operations. The plan is to have someone hired by late winter or early spring.

Winter Hours

We are now on winter hours for the clubhouse. They are:

                        Mon/Tues         11:00 am – 7:00 pm  (Lunch 11:00am – 2:00 pm)

Wednesday      Closed except for Ladies Pitch Night and Stagette

                        Thursday          11:00 am – 10:00 pm   (Lunch 11am – 2 pm, Dinner 6 – 8 pm)

                        Friday              11:00 am – 10:00 pm   (Lunch 11:00am – 2:00 pm)

Saturday           10:00 am – 7:00 pm     (Lunch 11:00am – 2:00 pm)

Sunday             Closed

HAPPY HOUR IS 4-6 PM WEEKDAYS

If the weather is nice enough to play golf, the clubhouse may be open additional hours until the course is closed. The staff is evaluating the hours for Monday and Tuesday. If a reasonable amount of lunch business is not done, lunch may be limited to Thursday through Saturday. If you enjoy the option of lunch at the club on Monday and Tuesday, please be sure to be a regular and bring your friends.

Winter Golf

Joe will keep the course open as long as the good weather holds. When playing in the mornings please be alert to frost and stay off the course until you are sure all the frost is gone. Walking or driving on frost will damage the grass. Once the course is “closed”, you may still play the course to the temporary flags Joe will put in front of the greens. Just stay off of the greens and tees.

Club Elections and Annual Meeting

The Annual Country Club Business Meeting will be held on Sunday January 18th at 2:00pm in the clubhouse. Please plan to attend. The results of the Country Club elections will be announced at the meeting. There is still time to get your name on the ballot. We will need to elect a Vice President, 3 members of the Board of Directors and one member of the Board of Trustees. We need the talents, abilities, and ideas of members willing to help guide our transition from a 9 to an 18-hole course as well as helping to arrange golf or social events. If you would be willing to run, please talk to any Board member about this.

Membership Changes

We have received a resignation from Steve & Linda Wilson. Kent & Sue Amsberry have dropped their golf membership, but remain as social members. Welcome new members Brad & Deanna Schulze, Cory & Beth Frank, Larry & Tammi Perry, Bob & Jan Chrisjohn. We now have 300 golf and 7 social memberships. If you see one of these new faces at the club, please introduce yourself and make them feel welcome.
