included. Make up your own group and tee off by 10:00 am. Advanced
signup required. You must be a member of the Men’s Association and have
a GHIN handicap to play. You can join the Men’s Association for $15 on
the day of the tournament. The course is open for regular play during
this event
Fall Projects on the Course
There are a number of “projects” that will be completed on the course
this fall. The greens will be aerated and top dressed during the first
week of October. In mid October the drainage tiling in the 2nd ditch on
hole #1 will be replaced with a “tube”. The area will be graded so that
it is a shallow swale that can be mowed as fairway. This will make the
area much easier to maintain and make the hole more playable. In mid
November the irrigation system on the old nine will be replaced. This
will allow for more efficient irrigation and will improve turf
conditions on this nine. The irrigation system is the 1st project being
financed by the $10 per month capital improvement fee that was
implemented this spring. The board is also still considering options for
the pond on hole #12 which has been almost completely filled with silt
in the 20 years since it was built. We hope that you will find the
course improvements worth the small disruptions in play they may cause.
Nominations Wanted
The Nominations Committee of Nate Ohnemus, Teri Cooper, Mike Lathrop,
and Larry Kubli is still looking for persons interested in running for
the Board of Directors, the Board of Trustees, and for President. I know
that many of you have the talent and interest to be of service to your
club. If you have an interest in running, contact the nominations
committee or anyone on the board. |
