Halloween Activities

The club has several activities for Halloween this year. The details are given below: In addition to the Halloween Dance there is a new Children's Halloween Party scheduled for Sunday October 30th. This is part of our effort to have more activities (like the family golf evenings) for our younger families with children. We hope that this children's party proves to be a popular event. Thanks to the Browns and Polsons for organizing the Halloween events.

Juniors and Carts

For your information, the Board has modified the requirements to use a member owned golf cart to read: "You must be 16 years of age with a valid drivers license, or 14 years of age with a valid learners permit and adult supervision, to operate a motorized golf cart." This will allow members to teach their junior golfers how to operate a golf cart responsibly.

Pro Shop

The Board is exploring putting a pro shop in the downstairs backroom. This would provide a service to the membership as well as potentially make additional revenue for the club. The pro shop will be on the agenda of next month's board meeting. If you have any thoughts on this issue let us know.

New Years Eve Party

Mark your calendar and start planning now for the Club New Years Eve Party. Our band will be the fabulous Good Time Oldies Band. They were a big hit at the 2003 party so mark it on your calendar to attend this year. The event will be chaired by Dwight and Mary Freitag so you can be sure it will be a fun evening. Watch future newsletters for more details.

IHS Boys Golf

A note from coach Mike Sheil:
Dear Indianola Country Club Members,
On behalf of myself, The IHS Boy’s Golf Team and the CIML, I want to thank you, President Werner Kolln, The Board of Directors, Joe Burke and his staff, Jason and his staff. I would also like to thank Jeff Raymond, Dan Newbury, Ken Pollock, Rick Demory, and Mike Polson who volunteered to help with the days activities. I want to thank all of you for allowing us to host the Conference Meet.
It made for a great day for 36 young men from our conference. You should all be proud of your golf course and yourselves for being willing to give up your facility for this day’s event. The comments from players, coaches, and spectators were very flattering.

Thanks again,
Mike Sheil, Indianola High School Boy’s Golf Coach
