The Pro's Corner

With the 2006 Season winding down I wanted to remind all of who have credit in the Club Bucks Book.  At the conclusion of our last event I will be posting the names of those who still have credit.  We will be updating the list periodically throughout the Fall to keep it as accurate as possible. 

The pro shop is a great avenue for you to use your credit.  It’s never too early to begin you Christmas shopping!  If we don’t have what you're looking for in the shop please let me know and I’ll see if we can special order your item.

Don’t forget about the last event of 2006.  The Indianola Country Club Ryder Cup is scheduled for Sunday, October 8th.  There will be a Men’s Division and a Mixed Division.  Tee times will begin at 8:00 a.m. The format for this fun event is 9 holes best shot, 9 holes best ball, and the final 9 alternate shot.  Please stop in or call the club house to sign up.

Finally, there has been some interest in beginning a Men’s Senior League next year.  This league would play once a week on Wednesday mornings.  Please look for more details in the months to come.  If you are interested in possibly playing please let me know so I can add your name to a mailing list for the Spring.

Halloween Party - Saturday October 28th

Cocktails 6:00 pm

Stew, Chili and the Fixins' 7:00 pm

Dance 8:00 pm -midnight

At 9pm we will auction off 6 prime tables for the New Years Eve Dance.  Come to the Halloween Party and make your reservation for New Years.  Dance to Good Time Oldies on New Years Eve.

Children's Free Fall Fest 1 - 2:30 pm,  Sunday October 29th

Men's Association News

The Men's Association Flag Tournament and Steak Fry is on Saturday October 14th.  Advanced signup required.  Check for details in the clubhouse.  The course is open for regular play during this event. 

October Stagette

The Ladies October Stagette is on Wednesday October 18th.  Cocktails are at 5:30 pm with dinner at 6:30 pm.  The program will be presented by Molly Sivertsen and Stephanie Becker, co-owners of S & B Fitness.  Learn what a good fitness program can do for your inner self. For reservations call the club (961-3303), Sharon (961-4623) or Rochelle (981-0609).

Pilates Tuesday

A Pilates class with Molly Sivertsen will be held on Tuesday's at 9:00 in the morning.  A healthy snack will follow.  Anyone wanting to sign up, please get in touch with Ruth Engelbart at the clubhouse or by cell. (250-5178)

Automatic Dues Payment

You now have the option to have your monthly or quarterly dues automatically deducted from your bank account.  [click here for a printable form]  Be sure to include a voided check with your form. 

Tournament Results

Congratulations to the winners of the recent tournaments.  In the Club Handicap Tournament Ryan St. John won the Men's Division with a net 60 while Lynda Stanford won the Women's Division with a net 66.  In the Labor Day Tournament the team of Vickie Andersen, Sherry Purcell and Sharon Capps won the Women's Division with a score of 140, while Alan Harder, Cory Drees and Bill Ketch won the Men's Division with a 124.  For complete results see our golf tournament section.

Fall Membership Special Continues

The fall membership drive is off to a good start with 12 new members so far.  The fall special which will continue through October is:

  • Reduced initiation fee of $250 (50% off the normal $500 initiation fee)

  • Dues of only $50 per month thru March 31, 2007

As an incentive to recruit new members the recruiting member will receive 1) $50 in clubhouse bucks when the new member pays the initiation. plus 2) For each member recruited before April 1, 2007 the recruiting members name will be put in a hat for a drawing for "50% off 1 quarter's dues.
Jason has new member applications and information that you can pick up or have him send out to a prospective member.

Membership Changes 

We have received a resignation from Zack Little. Marcia Swinford has dropped her golf membership, but remains as a social member. Welcome new members Mike Fulton & Lee Ann Clifton, Steve & Edie Hindman, Bruce & Donna McLaren, Wes Rodgers, Stan & Ann Niemeyer, F.Scott & Dena Sloan, Curtis & Angie Detmering, Dave Beane, Matt & Anna Brown, Ryan & Traci Ellis, Christopher Konop, and Andy & Jennifer Leech. We now have 338 golf and 12 social memberships.

CLUBHOUSE HOURS:  Clubhouse hours will depend on the weather.  During reasonable golf weather the clubhouse will be open 8:00 am - dark.(10:00 pm on Thursdays)

FOOD SERVICE: Cold sandwiches, microwave pizzas and hot dogs will be available in the lower bar area. The grill will be open for lunch Thursday-Saturday from 11 am-2 pm. During Men's League food will normally be available from the outside grill.  Dinner will be available from 6:00 pm until Dark on Thursdays. Look for updates posted in the club house or on the web site.
